During the flight to Coruscant, Rar, with Jacen Solo, Corran Horn, Tycho Celchu and Saba Sebatyne, discovered the voxyn queen had been freed from her transport vessel and had escaped the ship. During the chaos surrounding the discovery, Rar was thrown into the nearest airlock. Escaping, she discovered that Lumiya had been locked into the brig. The Twi'lek freed the Sith Lady, then used a blaster to execute the voxyn queen. Realizing that Lumiya was not the assassin she had assumed, Rar quickly became a target, as Lumiya's actions with the voxyn queen had shown her to be a dangerous adversary.
When Rar returned to Corellia, she was hailed as the new leader of the Jedi. Her surprise retreat was explained by Lumiya, who had taken the Twi'lek's place atop the Order's current hierarchy. Rar, however, was immediately confronted by a group of New Republic senators who demanded that she turn herself over to the authorities. Rar explained that she was merely there to speak, as the Jedi Order was clearly in a state of flux.
